Hommgoods was founded on a small frustration. Most home pieces are designed to look fabulous for a season or so, then fade once a few years have passed. We are based in Dewey Beach, Delaware, where the salt air finds the weak point in anything cheap or poorly made within about two summers. That has shaped what we are willing to sell: furniture and home pieces of good quality that hold their shape, their finish, and their proportions long after the latest trend has had its moment in the sun.

The catalog is small because each piece is chosen individually, and every home piece is ordered as a sample first. It is then lived with until it feels ready to go up on the website. The things we look at are the joinery, the weight of the piece, the finish and how it holds up to wear, and the overall proportions. Do the seams sit true? Does the finish take a scuff?

The boring part matters. Pricing is clear. Shipping within the United States is free. Every parcel is tracked, and each piece carries a 30 day return period with no restocking fee. We are easy to get in touch with, and most of the time someone replies within a business day or so. After that, the individual pieces will have to speak for themselves.
